7-11 through 7-12, 2008

Pedestrians

What a weekend it has been. Friday and most of Saturday were spent with good friends from my hometown at their lake house in southeastern Wisconsin. They have a great location, only 65 steps from the house down to the lake. By steps, I mean a concrete staircase heading straight down. You get plenty of exercises just going from the house to the lake, let along swimming, boating and jumping on the lauch pod water trampoline. As my friend Shawn and his wife Deb always say, "everything is better at the lake." This is the third annual trip to Booth Lake, just outside of East Troy and it is a perfect mini-break to recharge your batteries.

Christmas in July

Not to be content with a full 27 hours of fun -- including one nasty thunderstorm overnight -- our next stop was Doug and Deb's for their Christmas in July party. We were fashionably late, by about 7 hours, but everything was still going strong. Just in time for karoke and to listen to the last two songs by the band. Stayed until 11:00 and then headed home. Little Ryan sang three songs and we were so proud!
